We’re thrilled to have supported our Creative Producer Dina Mousawi’s collaboration with Elham Ehsas, an incredible filmmaker and long term friend of Good Chance, on his new short film Yellow. Filmed in Afghanistan/UK, Yellow was nominated for a BAFTA and shortlisted for an Oscar, having shown worldwide at over 40 short film festivals.

Empowering the next generation of writers through transformative mentoring from professional poets. Diyo Mulopo Bopengo and Sarah Orola are our first Poetry Fellows and have performed at the Museum of the Home, St James Piccadilly Festival and Migration Matters International Festival.

A powerful world music album from John Falsetto, Mohamed Sarrar and Ammar Haj Ahmad fusing Zimbabwean, Sudanese and Syrian music, spoken word and poetry on mbira, darbuka and djembe.

A Change the Word programme of workshops run by writer Yara Rodrigues Fowler and Good Chance Artistic Associate Connie Treves to prepare poets for showcasing their individual work to the world through publication or performance.

A theatre company, led by refugees and immigrants, born out of the Good Chance Domes in Paris, who have performed across France. Their most recent play premiered at The Pompidou Centre in Paris.

Iranian illustrator Majid Adin found inspiration to draw again in Good Chance’s Dome in Calais. After arriving in the UK, he won a competition to create the official music video for Elton John’s Rocket Man. Majid now sits on Good Chance’s Board of Trustees and we are currently collaborating with him on his first graphic novel, Hamid and Shakespeare.

Mohamed Sarrar is a musician and actor from Sudan. After performing in the Good Chance Dome in Calais, he began to reignite his music career in the UK and has now performed across the world.

A circus artist and performer from Ethiopia, Girum has collaborated with Good Chance on multiple projects, including The Jungle and The Walk with Little Amal. He has worked with Kneehigh and Pipeline Theatre and was recently featured as a fire-breather and dancer in Netflix’s The Crown.
